The lake has a meandering 5.64 mile shoreline. There are 2.66 acres of water per owner and 29.5 owners per mile of shoreline.

Bearskin State Trail - The Bearskin Trail is an 18 mile semi-paved trail that isn't groomed in the winter. The surface is crushed granite and the trail is pretty level. A trail pass is required for biking. The trail is located a few miles east of Blue Lake.

No nearby paddling routes but with limited boat traffic and clear water, Blue Lake is a really good paddling lake.
Snowmobile Trails:
Part of the Country Cruisers Trails system runs just to the west of Blue Lake. This trail system is 90 miles of trails that connect to the rest of the trails in Northern Wisconsin.
