   Little Star Lake is the first lake of the Manitowish Waters Chain of Lake. It is smaller than the other lakes, coming in at 244 acres, but has great water quality. The water is deep (31 ft avg depth with a 67 foot max depth) and clear (17.6 feet). Little Star gets less boating traffic than other lakes on the chain because it is smaller. The lake has a wonderful park with a great beach that is open to the public. There are 2.8 acres of water per owner on the lake and about 23 owners per mile of shoreline. The Manitowish Chain is a great chain. It has clear water and is plenty big enough for all types of recreation. There are also restaurants on the chain that can be boated to.

Biking/Walking/Ski Trails:
Heart of Vilas County (Manitowish Waters) - This biking and hiking trail is 14.5 miles long and meanders from the Manitowish Waters Community Center past The North Lakeland Discovery Center and towards Boulder Junction.

North Lakeland Discovery Center Trails - Biking, Hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails that total twelve miles in length. The trails go around Statehouse Lake and along the Manitowish River. This trail system connects to the Manitowish Waters Trail.
Paddling Routes:
No nearby paddling routes, but the Manitowish Chain has miles of shoreline and clear waters. It's great for paddling.
Snowmobile Trails:
The Sno-Skeeters trail system runs just to the north of the lake. The Sno-Skeeters groom twenty five miles of groomed trails that connects to other trail systems that allow full access to the whole Northern WI and Michigan Trail network.
