Big Carr Lake

   Big Carr Lake is mostly state owned and does not have many homes—there are only 6.5 owners per mile of shoreline, giving it a distinctly natural, low-density feel that contrasts with more heavily built-up waters. The lake has a clarity of 8 feet and is very deep, checking in with an average depth of 40 feet, creating a near-wilderness ambiance in places despite being close to civilization. Big Carr is conveniently located pretty close (about 15 minutes) to Minocqua so there are lots of non-lake activities to partake in. Big Carr is also close to Lake Tomahawk, which is a neat little town with a few spots to grab a bite to eat and a great butcher shop. The location between both towns offers cabin owners easy access to restaurants, shops, and services while preserving quiet, wildlife-friendly, forested shoreline at home.
