Squash Lake
There are only a couple high quality lakes south of Rhinelander. Squash is probably the best of them because it gets less public boat traffic. The main reason it gets less public traffic is that the launch takes a little more effort to get to whereas the Crescent Lake launch is right off the highway, Squash's launch is a drive around the back side. The lake is only a quick trip from all the conveniences of Rhinelander. The clarity is 17 feet and the average depth is 22 feet and there are 20 owners per mile of shoreline.

Biking/Walking/Ski Trails:
No trails within ten minutes, but the roads on the back side of the lake are good for walking and biking.
Paddling Routes:
No nearby routes, but Squash Lake is a good paddling lake. It has a lot of nice shoreline and very clear waters.
Snowmobile Trails:
The Hodag Sno-Trails run just a little to the North of the lake. Like in every other town up north, snowmobile trails run through town. From there you can go as far as you want, either north or south. All the trail systems connect with each other and are kept in great condition.
